In-School Prevention
The program offers a comprehensive education program within the schools, addressing multiple topics related to substance abuse.
ADTC Program - Purpose
Maine operates Adult Drug Treatment Courts (ADTC) in six counties: Androscoggin, Cumberland, Hancock, Penobscot, Washington and York counties. Each ADTC is a special Court-supervised program for selected, non-violent, defendants with significant substance abuse problems. Following a plea agreement, sentencing is deferred and defendants are diverted from incarceration while a multi-disciplinary Team provides strict, continual supervision and oversees demanding, out patient treatment in the community for at least one year. Thus the program allows clients to receive treatment while living and working in the community and avoid lengthy prison sentences as long as they comply with the program's strict requirements and guidelines.
AA, NA Alanon
Open Door teaches and reinforces the basic tenets of AA, NA & Alanon. Regular attendance at these meetings in the client’s community is a part of the treatment process.
